Hello everyone, I originally posted some time ago about this issue and finally had some time to dig in and see what I could do. I can confirm that after trying to get my issue fixed through several suggested fixes and nothing seemed to work that the only option left was completely replacing the keyboard. I've done repairs and upgrades on laptops and in general I go into it knowing that NOTHING is meant to be easy to get to. Even more so with these 2-in-1 laptops. For those willing to do the work and properly re-fasten/glue everything afterwords then it's the cheapest solution and has worked for me.

Hey Dell!!! Give me a job!!! Or I dunno maybe stop dodging the issue and help out your customers if you care to keep them.

I have a Dell Inspiron 5040N Laptop that now has a Dead Battery due to lack of charging.  Once the AC adapter is plugged into the Laptop the AC Module stops charging (green light goes off.  I have tried another Ac Adapter and have even replaced the AC Power Plug on the laptop with the same results.  I can not run any of the Tests due to battery is dead and Laptop will not turn on.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I have a powered hub that I have attached a DVD writer/reader to. The hub is also connected to my Dell Venue Pro 8 5830. I can use this DVD writer/reader while in Windows 8.1 to burn a Macrium Rescue Disk. I've also been able to play videos with the DVD writer/reader while connected to my Dell tablet.

I want to be able to boot into the DVD player if I ever need to use my Macrium Rescue Disk to restore a saved backup image.

When I go into the bios to make sure that the DVD player is selected first, it is not shown in the list.

How do I set the Dell tablet to boot into the DVD player if it isn't shown in the Bios boot up list?

Is there any way to add more than the current amount of customization? On my A18 laptop, I can do fade effects, flash, etc. Here, I can only have one color on each zone at a time, which there are 3. I will provide a screenshot of my menu. If this is all that can be done with the stock center, I am disappointed.

Where can I find the descriptive definitions of the “reason codes” reported in the Activity Logs when a Backup fails? I have searched all of the DELL site and non-DELL URLS.

Errors with undefined “reason codes: 2, 5 and 32” are reported under the Activity Logs when using the current DELL Backup and Recovery software (Version 2.8.0.62) ran as Administrator in Windows 10 (Version 10.0.10586 Build 10586)

Hi I tried to use my XPS 15 for hdmi to coax streaming via HDMI output with HDMI QAM Modulator. I have an issue - I can't get 1080p@60 , it works only under 1080p 30fps(GTX 960M should be powerfull enough for 60fps). What could be the problem? I use H.264 encoding and QAM DVB-C modulation. We want to create a workflow that does the following:

1. Triggered by an addition or removal of a user from a group

2. When the membership change is "applied" or "saved", it should prompt the user to enter information and then save it to a designated property of a group, such as notes.

Part 1 of this is no problem. Part 2 is where I'm getting stuck. Has anyone done something like this? If so, any help would be apprec.iated.

I would like to replace my computer PSU with a Seasonic G-650. I have a doubt about its dimensions which are : 8,6 x 15 x 16 cm, instead of the original 8,6 x 14 x 15.

Does anybody can tell me if the Seasonic G-650 can fit with any trouble ?

I would like to do a clean install on my new Aurora R5 to the Anniversary Update of Window 10. During the clean install process, disk 1 only shows a total of 450 mbs and none of the other partitions of the drive, so I rebooted and went into Windows and checked the disk management control panel and can see the entire drive (see attached image)

How can I get the boot drive to show the rest of the partitions during the clean install process? Disk 0 is  2TB 7200RPM SATA (Data) and Disk 1 is 256GB M.2 PCIe SSD (Boot)

Any help would be appreciated

I have a group with a PS6210xs and a PS6210x. The x is in the default pool, and the xs is in a different pool. Together, they hold more 26 TB of data, so neither member can hold data all by itself. We also have a new 6210x that I am getting ready to join. I'm hoping to join the new array to the group but not have any data move to it at first, so I have a few questions.

Can the 6210x and 6210xs be in the same pool (setting aside the space issue for a moment)? The hybrid runs raid 6 accelerated, and the other just runs raid 6.

If they can be in one pool, is there any downside in terms of performance?

Coming back to the space issue, and before we join the new array, is it possible to move the 6210x from the default pool to the other pool if the member of the other pool doesn't have enough free space all by itself?

If I can't do that, is it possible to join the new array to the group, but move it to a brand new pool before it starts automatically getting data from the other default pool member?

"Mark" (with heavy east Asian accent) called from All Voice Tech & Communications today. Said he was from their "Windows Maintenance Department".

He said my PC has been infected with a Trojan that hijacked my network and is stealing all my data. He asked how many people were currently using PCs at my location. Told him that was none of his business!

Then he asked if I got the email from them warning me about the Trojan. I said "no" and he immediately responded: "See, that's because the Trojan has hijacked your email account and will block all warnings and all attempts to remove it."

Told him I had a meeting so I'm supposed to call him back at 800-920-8467. Yeah, right!

I have an Inspiron 5548 that when I turn on it stays on the black screen with Dell logo, sounds like it is trying to load, then reboots.  I can do F2 to setup and F12 to Boot Manager, but neither gives me the option to restore OS or reboot from USB.  This laptop does not have a CD drive.

I appreciate anyone that could help me!!

All items purchased directly from Dell.
Latest Windows 10 updates, Intel video, GeForce video (720M), DDM, and U2417H software installed.

These three U2417H monitors connected to this laptop won't work using a DP or mini-DP cable without first disabling DP1.2.

This document indicates Intel i7-4600U supports DP1.2 (software.intel.com/.../quick-reference-guide-to-intel-processor-graphics)

This document indicates nVidia GT 720m supports DP1.2 (www.geforce.com/.../specifications)

This document indicates the Dell E-Port 2 USB3 dock supports DP1.2, but doesn't explicitly list support for the Latitude E5440 (though it says it's designed for the E5430 & supports the E5450)

Device Manager lists a single U2417H (and the Generic PnP Monitor native notebook screen) in the monitors section, also lists the two aforementioned video cards in the Display adapters section.

I've tried using the DP->miniDP cable included with the Dell monitors, as well as a StarTech DP->DP cable.

Disabling DP1.2 results in only the 1st monitor being detected but still passes through video via the Dell DP->miniDP cables to the other two monitors (all 3 monitors are U2417H).

I've tried disabling DP1.2 on the last 2 monitors and enabling it on the first monitor, but then no monitors display video. Perhaps there's a certain sequence of activating/disabling & plugging/unplugging that needs to occur?

Other than downgrading video drivers, I'm unsure of what else I can do to get these monitors to daisy chain.

It just started few days ago. Never had any boot problem before. When I power it on, it takes 3x longer to boot up than before but when I restart the system it boots up quick. I have got Windows 8.1 on it. I do not have the Kionix Free Fall Sensor installed. I have updated the BIOS but nothing has changed. Any idea please? I can upload a video on Youtube if you guys like.

I have a T5500 that I believe is not able to draw enough power with both GPUs powered.  Will the 1100W PSU from the T7500 fit in the T5500?  I have replaced the MB and riser previously.
