when i start the power it's working but there's no display  monitor . no alarm no nothing

even when i take off the ram it's a same thing

I'm posting issue to show how Dell lies, and then blames its customer. I was given the run around, and blamed just like others. 

Now dealing with an issue that was caused by the right side hinge defect, i.e. the antenna lead, I was searching for repair options and came across this forum and people with the EXACT same issue. Dell lied to me in that it communicated with me as if it was my fault, and said the only way I could get it repaired was to pay for it. 

I protested with no favorable results. I then paid them (and to expedite the repair). Then they contact me days later, after having my funds during that time, that they don't have the part to repair, they didn't know when they would have it, and they then CANCELLED the repair INDEFINITELY. 

Dell used to have excellent products, and customer service. I guess they're making enough profit where they don't have to care about customer satisfaction anymore.

Does anyone know of such a case? similar to using any other tablet? Like where they keyboard would be protected, etc

Hi,

Just wanted to check that the dell u2415 monitor will work on xps13 (9343) laptop. The only video output connector on laptop is mini display port, the monitor has that input, but wanted to make sure it would work.

BRAND NEW XPS 8900 with Windows 7 Pro Will Not Update

It was not just annoying that a brand new Dell XPS 8900 tower that was shipped with Windows 7 Pro pre-installed refused to update, but appalling to learn that Dell Support refused to help resolve the issue.  The told me to talk to Microsoft as if they would ever help.  When escalated to a manager I was instructed that the entire system should be reloaded from scratch.  I solved the issue with the updating and learned that Dell is shipping Windows 7 Pro machines with images that will not update without manual intervention.  Would share the solution with the community if someone senior in Dell Support wants to contact me. Clearly the telephone and the online chat people understand the issue or care about the solution.

My Dell Laptop
I have a dell laptop purchased a year a go and was working fine. All of the sudden, it started nosing, whistling like an alarm everytime reboot or restarts. I tried to solve this issue as much as i could, but the noise is still there. I reset my win 10 several times, i couldn't be solving this issue. Please advice how to overcome this problem.

Hello,

I recently purchased a Dell Optiplex 780 MT from Ebay. The computer has the following specs: 

Processor: Q8400 2.66GHz
Memory: 4GB(4x2GB) DDR3 RAM

ATI Radeon HD 3450. 

My issue is between owning the computer for a few months, I have been using the on board VGA port and recently purchased the DMS-59 to VGA and DVI adapter. When I installed the graphics card I get a message stating that the configuration is unknown and that I need to unplug the monitor from the display port. The problem I have is that with the VGA plugged into the adapter to the 3450, I get no video output. Now I have tested it on a different system and the card worked. I also changed g the configuration and turned off the message for video cards in the bios and have updated/ downgraded the bios as well. Does the system not support this card? or do I have a bad Motherboard?

Power Edge 840 could not boot from the mirrored drive

I have a 2011 Power Edge 840 with two hard drives in mirror configuration. It looks like the first drive is corrupted but it could not boot from the 2nd drive. It looked like went through the boot process, but got the following:

PXE-E53: No boot file received

PXE-M0F: Exiting BroadcomPXE ROM

stike F1 to retry boot, F2 for setup utility.

This is a production server and we need to get it back. Any advice on what steps I should take to get  the server booted? Thanks!

Wireless(wfi) adapter stopped working in my Dell XPS 13 with Windows 10 64-bit

Dell Support,

I owned Dell XPS 13 and everything was working fine since yesterday but WiFi stopped working all of sudden since yesterday. I haven't made any changes to the laptop not even windows update. I updated the wireless drivers, disabled ,re-enabled the network adapter from network adapter settings but no luck. I even uninstalled the existing intel broad com wireless drivers and installed back  no luck. I installed Dell Dell wireless 1560 802.11ac driver but the issue still persists. I even reset my router to make sure that it's throwing the wifi, all other devices like desktop, mobile, tablet works fine with home wifi but not just this Dell XPS device. All I can see in the status tray is the square box with red sign.

Can anybody suggests the fix for this?

Dell 7040 Micro WiFi Card Installation

Hi All

I have a Dell 7040 Micro but it doesn't come with a WiFi Card 

i managed to find the WiFi Card on eBay (www.ebay.com.au/.../272080769345

But i still need the IPEX MHF4 Cable with SMA ( the Black and White cable connected to the Wifi card main and aux) 

Where can i get this cable from ? i believe the Dell Part number is 0P9YC5

After changing RAM, iDRAC 6 enterprise reverted to Express in r510

I recently added ram in a dell r510 and upon doing so my License for iDRAC 6 Enterprise reverted to Express.  After changing the hardware modification back to how the server shipped, the license remained at Express.  How would I go back to my enterprise License the server shipped with. 

I don't have any license codes only the service tag where it shows the r510 shipped with enterprise.  I also don't know where I would enter a license key to upgrade/fix this problem if I had a license.  The iDRAC 6 wiki only shows "iDRAC6 Licensing Information <ADMIN NOTE: Broken link has been removed from this post by Dell" for the licensing information section.

Will resetting the iDRAC back to factory defaults fix this? Will reverting back to previous firmware settings fix this, (note: my previous firmware settings match my current v1.8 iDRAC)

Is there anyway to save the settings within the iDRAC web interface that won't save the fact that it's a Express install?

The server is currently running iDRAC 1.8.  Any help would be appreciated.

Failed installation of Win10 using Recovery and Restore

Have a Dell XPS18 tablet.  Long story short, it now has no OS.  Previously had the free upgrade of Win10.  Was directed by Dell to create a recovery disk, and I used a usb drive.  I downloaded the recovery files and was seemingly on my way to reinstalling the OS.  Late in the install, I received an error, "failed to repair boot files, no usb drive attached", which was odd since I'm installing from a usb drive. it said to remove any usb drives and restart, and when I do, I end up in an endless loop, where it fails at the same point.  No idea where to go from here.  Tablet is out of warranty.  Thoughts?

R410 Add RAID

I know this has been discussed here before, but I have read so many postings here and on other sites but I have been unsuccessful in finding the part numbers I need to order.

I recently acquired a R410 without a raid controller with cabled drives. I need to have raid 5- I currently have 4x 1TB drives. I got my hands on a couple of Perc controller cards, one of them Perc 6 that I was hopeful would work, and a Perc 5 I knew wouldn't. This is a project server for my home, so my budget prohibits me from stepping up to the more advanced controllers- but honestly I don't need anything fancy.

Can someone give me the part numbers I need? I know I need the controller and some cables as the ones I currently have connect the drives to the mainboard. 

Was I sold a used dell laptop?

I purchased an XPS 15 9950 laptop at a Microsoft store in August (2016).  When I registered the laptop on the dell support site recently and checked its warranty, it showed that teh product shipped in December 2015 and there are only 127 days remaining on warranty.

Does this mean that someone else owned and registered product before I did, or just that there was a data entry error somewhere.

Dell laptop vostro1510 not faulty power up. this error before it can appear similar to the screen turned black once and the buttons on the touch bar-shaped bag 3. when switched off and then restarted it up but the wrong date and time, date and return to the original default. Once a month is like this thiden not turn up again, just turn off the lights and then, the display does not always.

I need some serious help with this problem:

Recovery Your pc/device needs to be repaired the boot configuration data for your pc is missing or contains errors.

My laptop goes into continuous reboot cycle and will not let me boot into a repair option.

I have no disk's to help me with this issue since this laptop was given to me with out discs.

I don't have windows 7 on my other pc which i could have made a windows 10 ISO file with windows 10.

This laptop originally shipped with windows 7 and was upgraded to windows 10 so i don't have any recovery tools at all.

I am at a point where i don't know what to do so i turn to my peers in the community.

Purchased an XPS 13 w/ 16 GB of RAM received XPS 13 with 8 GB told I couldn't exchange NO HELP FROM Customer Service - RUN AROUND

I ordered (and paid for) a Dell XPS 13 with 16 GB of RAM. I received a Dell XPS 13 with 8 GB of RAM. The line item information for the service tag of the laptop I received states it has 16 GB of RAM. However, I checked the memory and it is only 8 GB of RAM.

I have tried to resolve this issue in the following ways:

(1) I chatted with a representative who told me I would have to call Sales & Returns about the issue.
(2) I called Sales & Returns and spoke to a representative AND supervisor who told me that I could not exchange the laptop with the incorrect specifications because it wasn't "Damaged" I could only return it and then purchase the correct laptop again. BUT - I purchased the laptop when it was on sale and it is now over $300 dollars more expensive. The representative told me I should be fine if I wait until "Black Friday" and try to purchase again then. They couldn't do anything else for me. They could only accept a return, refund me my money, and make me pay MORE for an item I already purchased (unless of course I manage to find a sale between now and then). I would have to try Technical Support to resolve the issue.
(3) I was transferred to technical support who listened to the issue and told me that it could only be resolved by Customer Care. I was then transferred to Customer Care.
(4) I spoke to Customer Care who told me it was a Technical Support issue and they couldn't resolve the issue unless Technical Support made a note. I was transferred BACK to Technical Support
(5) Technical Support then told me that it was a Customer Care issue but they would talk to Customer Care and explain the issues before transferring me.
(6) Transferred to Customer Care again - could barely understand - told me I needed TWO 8 GB - was disconnected.
(7) Received an email showing that Dell is sending me 16 GB of RAM - which is fantastic - except that I shouldn't be expected to - nor can I - install 16 GB of RAM into an XPS 13 (soldered to the mother board) but I guess Customer Care would probably tell me that's an issue for Technical Support.
(8) I purchased and PAID FOR an XPS 13 with 16 GB of RAM. I received a laptop with the incorrect specifications. I SHOULD be able to exchange it for a laptop with the CORRECT specifications at NO ADDITIONAL Cost to me and not requiring me to be an engineer to figure out how to somehow replace 8 GB of RAM with 16 GB of RAM.

This is really so unbelievably unacceptable.

N2000 & N3000 serie SSH stops working after some time

After upgraded to the latest firmware 6.3.1.8. The SSH still stop working after some time (2 weeks or 4 weeks). So please help to update new hot fix to solve this issue.

Power Cable & Plug location for T5810 to Nvidia Titan x

T5810 upgrade to Titan X GPU which requires one 8-pin & one 6-pin connector for power.  I ordered an 8-pin to 6+8-pin cable as suggested by searches.  It plugs perfectly into the GPU but has no place to plug in on the PSU board:

It does not fit into the 8-pin spot on the lower left.  It fits in the 10-pin spot with the bottom two left open, but does not work.  The power light flashes amber.

Is there another way to power the GPU with this PSU board?
