I've had my Dell XPS 12 9Q23 since 2012 and my warranty expired on 2014. Before the warranty expired, I received an unexpected call asking if my Dell XPS 12 9Q23 was running slow. I did not notice it at the time, but later after using other laptops, the core i7 @ 1.9 ghz processor running on this was running noticeably slower than other laptops.
I recently installed Windows 10 and I noticed that the processor is stuck at .79 GHz no matter what the CPU utilization is at. Also, the CPU utilization never goes above 33% no matter what stress test I apply. My other core i7 Dell laptops will go up to their maximum GHz when the CPU utilization is nearing max.
This has to be a known issue with this model otherwise Dell support wouldn't have called me and specifically asked if the laptop was running slowly. Has anyone else experienced this issue, and if so, how did you remedy it?
