Hello,
I have a Dell N5010 laptop and I have been running into some problems the past few weeks.
It all started with my laptop not able to boot after an unexpected shutdown. When I tried to boot it again there was no light at the front, no POST, no fans spinning, it almost seemed it was dead (motherboard-wise).
Then, after searching here and there into forums and stuff, I came up with the "power button press to discharge" solution. It worked! My laptop booted again! Note that this was the second time my laptop did that (shutting down and not powering up).
I then started the built-in diagnostics and as I was passing through various checks the laptop started making some noise. I don't know if it is from the motherboard's speaker (if any) but most probably it is.
Maybe this is a sign of a mobo that is malfunctioning? Has anybody else stumbled upon such case?
I am attaching the recording.
