I bought the extended, next day in home service, advanced spill/anything warrentee when i purchased my m17x r1 laptop. The first problem i had was taken care of very quickly the first year i had the laptop (a bad keyboard). Now 2 years later i had slow fps on my system. I was told to send it to the repair facility and they would check it out ( since the nvidia website wouldnt recognize my 2 sli m280's). ok, so i did... fast return of my laptop.. well.. lets start by saying the hard drive in slot 0 was not showing up and there was a loose screw rolling around in the bottom of the laptop ( so basically a botched repair).

i sent it back...

it took  5 days to get a return box shipped to me..I dont really know why, except i received alot of excuses..well anyway, then the laptop came back the second time from repair with a different hard drive then the origional and no operating system or drivers. so.. i get to looking in the bios and see a different hard drive then the origional i purchased with the system.

ok, well problem.. i have a raid 0 configuration.. you HAVE to have the same type of hard drives to run raid 0 to be stable. Both the hard drives were samsung drives, now the replaced one is showing up as some sort of lighton brand. Also i still get the no operating system error and when i look under my computer properties i see NO nvidia graphics cards?

this system was top of the line with duel m280's duel SS hard drives , Blue ray optical drive.. i paid over 4k for this with warrentee's.

now its a paper weight.

im very dissapointed in this type of service, especially when i paid this much money for a laptop and warrentee services.

now the third call i had today with an alienware rep.. he is sending two samsung SS drives and a in home tech to replace them.

what kind of service center am i sending my laptop to when i send it in? they scratched the paint off it broke a plastic mount off the bottom and returned it broken 2x.

i took VERY good care of this laptop when i had it. I wish the repair center did the same. i hope this third repair really does get the laptop to at least the state it was in BEFORE i sent it into the repair center. I used to brag about Alienware to all my gaming online friends.. now they just laugh at me when i mention i have an Alienware.. i really thought this would be a better experience. It was a great laptop until about 3 weeks ago.
