Inspiron 1545' windows 7, 64bit. Will not restart cleanly. Will shutdown ok, but when restarted, either by way of reboot or power button, prompts to go into safe mode claiming something has changed ( it hasn't). Further, the laptop then shuts down, making the issue worse. We've found leaving it 30 mins or so and then redoing this process seems to somehow trick it into thinking power wise all ok.
Mains connected into laptop. Does same thing regardless of on battery, on mains with battery or on mains with no battery.
The laptop had been dropped about 18 months ago and landed on the ac adapter plug / socket - however all was fine for a year after that. Its only been the past three or four months this has happened.
Ideas? Or should we look for a replacement laptop?
