I just bought an XPS 8500 with i7 and a standard hard drive. I bought a new 128gb SSD and installed in my machine. It is formatted and ready to go. I'm now trying to perform a 'clean' or a 'fresh' install of Windows 8 (home - not pro) on the SSD and I have had no luck. Dell did not ship a Windows 8 disk with my computer because it came pre-installed. I made a set of recovery discs, disabled my standard disc drive and booted from the recovery disc in hopes of reinstalling on the SSD, but it appears that Dell has a requirement in their backup and restore software that will only allow system restore on a disc the exact size of the hard drive that came in the computer. I would happily purchase the Paragon Migrate OS to SSD software, but they don't support Windows 8 yet. Any thoughts?
