I have an XPS 15 (L521X) and am having problems with UEFI not giving me the option to boot from DVD or USB. I reinstalled Windows 8 when I got the machine and at that point I could boot from DVD but not from USB and now even the DVD option is missing. I thought they were supposed to be added automatically when the system sees them?
Secondly but on a different subject I am having problems with the USB ports. No problems with any USB2 devices but so far I have only found 1 USB3 device that the computer actually sees and mounts. Most of them power up but do not get mounted but the one that does get seen and mounted disappears again almost immediately but then will work after I have unplugged it and plugged it in again. Dell support told me to force the Win 7 drivers into the system and I have done this but it did not help.
Any help on either of these topics would be greatly appreciated.
