I'm following all of the notes/knowledge base articles, etc. and have not found MY SPECIFIC problem - or a solution - so here goes:
I follow the instructions of powering up and using <F8>,
I get to the Advanced Boot menu AND SELECT the REPAIR - but the system boots as normal: No asking for language, login get to the normal user screen, no option to repair/restore!!!
I'm going to guess that the boot manager is hosed...but have no clue how to repair it.
When the system is running I DO have the RESTORE partition as the "D:" drive - so I know that it's there. I can see it, explore it, etc.
I really just want to restore to the factory settings so that I can start with a minimal system and loose all the junk that's accumulated over the years.
Can anyone advise on how to repair the situation or get around the issue?
Thanks.
