Hi everyone
Hoping someone can help me or guide me in the right direction with this issue. I have an Dell inspiron 1564 that for some reason now will not start, if i have the battery in and plug the laptop into the mains the charging light comes on but the laptop will not switch on, if i let the battery charge and try and power on with the laptop not plugged into the mains again the laptop wont power on.
If i remove the battery and plug into the mains for some reason the laptop switches itself on for about 3 seconds nothing appears on the screen then it turns off and wont switch back on again when i press the power button, until i pull the cable out and plug back in again in which case the same thing happens it switches itself on and then off after 3 seconds.
I have tried taking out the hard drive/replaced hard drive with another spare one but same problem. I have also tried removeing the memory and trying each memory stick one at a time but again same fault. I have tried removing the BIOS battery and holding the power button in to remove any static charge and then plugging into mains and same fault happens with BIOS battery in or out.
I have taken the computer apart and cleaned the heatsink fan and i have removed the heatsink to see if there is any noticeable marks on the processor which there are non, although there was allot of dust at the heatsink fan. Other than that it wasnt to dirty to be totally honest, after all of that i put the laptop back together again and test but again nothing exactly the same fault as the very start, it wont switch on with the battery plugged in and when i remove the battery it powers on for about 3 seconds and then off again.
Can anyone please help with this issue or have any idea what might be the cause of the fault.
Thank you
