I have formatted and partitioned this Hitiachi harddrive I have the bios configured properly. If I can drop to dos I get a prompt and can do anything I want in dos.
The install copies the files and then says It will reboot and then does the reboot. It does not continue the setup process it starts the install all over again.
What am I missing?? Windows website is not really hitting my problem it either assumes vista is and can run or it gives newby advice that is really crazy and irritating to read through.
In the olden days I would simply boot with the vista disk and drop to dos and say SYS C: /Sand this would make the dang thing bootable. Alas, it's all greek (again) to me.
BTW, the hitachi harddrive utility assumes that windows is up and running. The repair version of windows allows dos, but this program is windows only.
