I was trying to update the firmware of the Optiplex 780 hard drive (Seagate ST3250312AS) from JC47 to JC49. The installation instruction said this hard drive needed to be updated from DOS bootable USB drive (not mentioned if the update program for Windows works or not). When I ran the JC49.BAT command from the USB DOS as indicated in the instruction, it detected the hard drive correctly with firmware JC47, then I got error:
Download was Not Successful.
JC49M.LOD Has Not Been Loaded
and then
SINGLE LOAD FILE FAILED
When I checked the DOS folder where the BAT file located, there was the JC49M.LOD file.
I tried 2 usb drive with either FAT or FAT32. No success.
The boot image of usb is from win98.
I even rolled back the BIOS from A14 to A13 and A12. No success either.
Please help.
