Too much sensitive touch pad

I've purchased Dell Inspiron 5520 laptop 1 month back, it comes with multi touch touchpad. I am experiencing the weird too much sensitivity issue from the very first day of the purchase of this machine. The touchpad of the laptop is too much sensitive, its tapping function seems to be uncontrolled. I've called support couple of times, they have told me to re-install the driver, I did it around 8 or 9 times. Then I've upgraded my machine to Windows 8 pro, installed windows 8 touchpad driver from the official Dell website, the issue is still same. I've tried to change all the settings but it seems that nothing happens. Today I was installing the printer on my laptop and found a new device called Dell Waterstone touchpad and its status is driver error, (I dont know why it is showing Dell Waterstone touchpad, the 5520 laptop comes with Elan touchpad) I've tried to update the driver as well with no luck. Is there any fix of too much sensitivity or it is a hardware issue? Please someone help or suggest me possible troubleshooting steps to get rid of this issue.
