My WD1600BEKT-00F3T0 160 Gb HARD DRIVE WORKS ON MY DESKTOP BUT NOT ON IT'S ORIGINAL LAPTOP

I have a WD1600BEKT-00F3T0 160 Gb  HARD DRIVE that came from a Dell Latitude D830 laptop that stopped working when I installed a driver on my laptop.

After many attempts at different things, I found out that both the hard drive and the laptop work well, but not with each other.

When I noticed the problem, I :

- reinstalled windows at first, then I discovered that the laptop does not see the hard drive. I get the Dell Diagnostics PSA+ Error Code 2000-0141

- I later found out that I could easily unplug the hard drive from my laptop and use it in any of my 2 desktops using SATA IDE mode.

- thought that my laptop had a problem, but later discovered that I could use another hard drive from another laptop (Dell Latitude D620) without a problem.

 (HDD: Seagate Momentus 5400.3)

So then:

Both the laptop and the hard drive work fine, but not with each other.

How would you uninstall / remove the changes on the laptop (Dell Latitude D830) so that any of the hardware changes (when I installed a driver) could be undone?

The problem is: I am not sure which drivers commited that change.

Is their a list for basic hardware specs without drivers for Dell Latitude D830 and an easy way to remove all non-factory drivers?
