I received my Alienware M14X on Saturday 1/14/13 and immediately, I tried to get on a call on Skype and the other person couldn't hear me. I tried to turn on the webcam but the computer didn't recognize that there was a camera there. After about an hour of fussing around with settings, i went to the Alienware support site and spoke directly to an expert. We chatted for about 30 minutes as he guided me to steps to downloading drivers and fixing the problem. Eventually the expert couldn't figure it out so he gave me a tech support number to call for a more interactive support service. I called the number and spoke to a man who led me to a site which allowed him to control my computer, he downloaded even more drivers and restarted the system a few times but nothing had worked. He said the system was shipped without the microphone and webcam console connected to the rest of the computer. Now i need to order a brand new system. Quality assurance?
