dvi-d plug / port appears to have blown

Hi all,

I have 2 monitors.  One uses the "blue plug" the other uses the "white plug".  it seems the white plug has blown (dvi-d) thanks to power outage due to storms in Brisbane this weekend.  Both monitors will work using the blue plug, so it's not the monitor.  But neither monitor will work with the dvi-d / white plug. 

Question: is it likely to be a failure at the monitor end of the cable (ie port), or the laptop end of the cable ie port) ? I'm thinking laptop, given that both monitors are working ok with blue plug.

i can't decide whether i'm going to need new monitors or a new laptop!!
