Dell Studio 1555 remote activation / file transfer

Greetings,

Last month my Dell Studio 1555 broke and I can not turn it anymore. I have a new computer by now, but there are many files on my old computer which I wish to transfer to my new computer, as they are quite important to me. How do I go about doing this without having to use an Ethernet cross-over cable; or otherwise remotely power on the laptop?
