I have seen many questions on setting up multiple monitors but none of the answers seem to suit my situation.
I have a Studio XPS 9100 with ATI Radeon 5770 1024 MB
I have a Dell ST2310 monitor connected by HDMI
I have an Acer X223W connected on DVI
I was running this way for the last two years with no issues. They are setup with resolutions of 1920 x 1080 and 1680 x 1050 respectively.
I recently purchased the Dell U2312HM monitor and have hooked it up using a Displayport cable.
I had a lot of trouble getting the new monitor to show anything at all. Now the only way I can produce a stable image is to drop the resolution of the DP monitor down to 1280 x 1024, which looks terrible but at least the image is stable. If I set the resolution higher it starts flickering.
I am not a gamer, this is simply a productivity set up. Is there anything I can do to get the new monitor up with a decent screen resolution with a stable image?
