I received an Alienware laptop for Christmas. It was purchase in November and I opened and turned it on in January. After the third use the sound on the computer went out. I told tech support I wanted the computer replaced because they were sending out a tech to change out the whole motherboard. The tech came and changed out the motherboard and we noticed that a few screws were missing. He said that it shouldn't affect the computer. Shabby manufacturing work for such an expensive computer. Now my computer is freezing and it keeps disconnecting from Internet explorer and restarting by itself. So I called tech support. They told me that they could only replace my computer once and they did that with replacing my motherboard even though I told them I wanted the whole computer replaced. Then they told me that I only had 21 days to return and replace my computer. They should have replaced it when I called them the first time. I'm extremely disappointed with Dells customer service. I expected a little more quality and integrity from them. Then when I asked for the corporate number the tech gave me the 1800 number and hung up. I'll try to contact customer service to see if I can get a corporate number or get a hold of someone that can actually help. Preferably one that is not outsourced, as these tech guys all have strong accents and they all sound like they are from a different country. If I can't get any help then I will have to take this up with the Better Business Bureau to see what can be done. Has anyone had the same problems? And did it ever get resolved? Does Dell stand behind their products anymore. I bought dells in the past and the customer service was excellent then. This company seems to steadily go downhill. I can see why there's a lot of other companies surpassing them. Sad because I was a Dell fan. I picked a Dell over a Mac for christmas and now I'm totally disappointed.
