U2713 Problems

Good afternoon,

I recently purchased the DellU2713HM (through Amazon), and felt like I had taken a gamble considering the varying reviews on complete opposite sides of the fence. Gave the monitor the benefit of the doubt, and ultimately lost my gamble.

The monitor suffers from an unbearable amount of backlight bleeding in both the upper right, and lower left corner of the screen (the latter with an orange tint to it)

After a one hour and a half call (NO LIE) with Dell for a replacement/recommendation, I was offered one which arrived in the mail just yesterday.

The new one (although with less BLB..still not perfect) however is permanently stuck in "power saver mode."

Points worth noting:

1. The BIOS screen displays fine, the "Windows Starting" screen displays fine, and starting the computer in safe mode also displays fine in both native (2560x 1440 as well as  1920x1080  resolutions) Power save was disabled during safe mode.

2.  Switching out the monitor to the older one gives me a perfect image instantly. (So, does that rule out the possibility of cables/video card problems??)

3. Both DVI-D and hdmi cables were tested for the new monitor. Still no image. Display port was also changed respectively to reflect the cable change.

More than 3 combined hours of troubleshooting all possible steps, and now I have 2 monitors, (one going back to Dell via Fed Ex, and another to Amazon via UPS.) Still no solution.

Since time is of the essence on both these returns, any help at ALL would be greatly appreciated.

Am I alone on this?
