I just picked up my new Dell Inspiron computer yesterday. It has a 1TB hard drive and Windows 8. Forgive my simple question, but Windows 8 is very new to me. I want to create folders on my hard drive as I have on past computers, but this new one has "OS (C)" the name of the hard drive with apparently the operating system files and folders very accessible to me. First, it scares me a little that I could accidentally make a change that could affect my operating system....shouldn't those files and folders be unavailable to me, hidden, or something? Second, and my main question, I want to create data folders on my hard drive. Is it ok to create them on the "OS (C)" drive? It worries me that I am creating data folders on a drive called "the operating system" drive. Is there a trick to where to put my data folders that also avoids any chance of affecting the OS folders? Thanks!
