I am purchasing an Inspiron 17r SE loaded with everything except the 32gb msata card that dell offers... I would rather install a larger Msata card and use for boot and programs and just use the hdd for storage.... I feel that caching is a waste if I can just boot OS and programs straight from msata ssd... I am using this laptop mainly for music production and I will be upgrading memory to 16gb as well.
Can I add an aftermarket Msata ssd card 128gb or 256gb to use as boot drive for OS and installed programs..... If so, do I need any additional brackets to install the msata ssd card.....
........ or would it be better to install an internal 2.5" SATA SSD instead of the msata card for boot and program purposes.???????
Im new to all of this stuff concerning SSD and msata, etc.... so forgive me if this is a stupid question
