I have a T110 running Windows 2003 x86 Standard and have a PERC controller running my OS. I also have a single SSD attached to the onboard SATA controller just for storage and pagefile. As an academic exercise, has anyone here ever upgraded a basic disk volume to a dynamic volume for purposes of running some form of software RAID through Windows Logical Disk Manager? I'm kind of curious as to reliability and performance. I have some spare laptop SSD's I was thinking of mounting into the T110 using a bay adapter, plugging them into the onboard SATA ports, upgrading them to dynamic disks, then convert them to a RAID 0 volume, throwing just the server's pagefile and temp folders. Kind of extreme, but this is partially an academic exercise and because I have spare parts. Would it be worth doing or just a waste of time?
