I recently performed a full manual reload of Windows 7 Professional 64-bit on my Dell Vostro 3560, including downloading and re-installing "Dell DataSafe Local Backup". The reload works, except that "Dell DataSafe Restore and Emergency Backup" no longer appears as one of the options on the "Choose a Recovery Tool" screen in the Recovery Environment. Thus I can no longer access the Dell Factory Image on the Recovery Partition.
By way of background, I earlier performed a similar full manual reload on a Vostro V131 with complete success, including being able to access the Dell Factory Image on the Recovery Partition. I anticipated similar success on the Vostro 3560. The only significant difference between the two reload experiences seems to be that the Vostro V131 used the Dell Backup and Recovery Manager (DBRM), whereas the Vostro 3560 uses Dell DataSafe Local Backup.
Having had lots of discussions with technical support. I should confirm that I did repartition the hard drive before performing the manual reload, but I was careful to preserve the Recovery Partition. As far as I can tell (from exploring the Recovery Partition from the Command Prompt), the Recovery Partition is intact. Specifically, the Dell Factory Image is still there.
Hoping that someone can help me resolve this problem. In advance, thank you very much.
