Hello everyone. I have had the same problem. My left hinge broke and dell said it was gonna be 350$ because i needed a new screen.. This is not the case.. I would say for most of us the hinge is ripping off the lcd backing causing the break. Chays77 mentioned above the solution. I loked online for the lcd backing only. I ordered one from parts-people.com. It cost me 90$ shippex because i opted for faster shipping. Once it arrived I began dissassembling the screen and the backing.. I have never done it before so I took my time.. Took me about 2 hours to switch the backings, the screens, and hook up the couple wires.. and now im good as new and insanly careful on opening it.. Look for teardown tutorials online if your unsure... The screen is not the problem so do not let tell you that..its the lcd backing.. It is a little tricky to do but it is mostly just little screws holding it together and having to run the wifi cables. If your stuck you can message me and I can try and offer help.
