Hi, I’m new here,
I just bought a previously owned Area51 desktop, build date 7/10, somehow it found it’s way to Goodwill where I chanced upon it, but to my dismay it was donated w/out its original 256Gb ssd hard drive or recovery media. I will get to the point; I would like to obtain the original Win7HomePrem operating system, the real one, not the fake one Dell just sold me. I am willing to entertain some creative ideas to help make that happen. What I ordered from Dell is anything but original as some of you may know. They sent me a plain Dell Win7 reinstall dvd (but the correct resource dvd). I can think of a few ways to obtain the original OS as made as shipped and as intended by Alienware, but I need someone’s help...just 1 person. Is there someone out there who has or can make a copy of your recovery media (Respawn recovery media)? Factory-as-shipped system ISO backup image maybe? Image your recovery partition? Anyway to burn a copy of your original Alienware logo’d / branded install dvd that Dell refuses to sell/send their customers? Apparently Dell thinks I should be satisfied with a generic win7dvd and a “close but no cigar” stardock download to “respawn” the original operating system with *nervous laugh*
But yes, if someone can be kind enough to burn their original logo’d install dvd (so long as a burned copy works) ???, or burn a copy of recovery media based on factory original recovery partition etc, or has a better solution, or can point me to a better place than Dell to order such a set, I am all ears, and I’m also a Paypal member if a little green is what it’ll take to help you help me help get my Aliens’ real brains back. It lingered at Goodwill, people...between that and the crummy dvd Dell sold me I was forced to install with, it’s suffered enough! Thankyou in advance...
