Hi,
My M1330 (With Nvidia 8400M GS, Windows 7 64 ) is connected to my TV via HDMI but I can't get none of my software to play DTS sound.
Dolby digital is played ok and identified as dolby digital by my receiver.
When I try to play movies with DTS, no sound comes out and I need to tell my laptop to decode the data on its own.
When I connect my PS3 to the TV using the same HDMI cable and connector, DTS is played nicely.
Further more, when I use the windows sound panel (As below) to test for DTS audio, it works and my receiver identify the input as DTS.
I tried many solution: I updated my Nvidia driver to the latest, uninstalled the Sigmatel driver and tried to use windows' built in driver, installed the IDT driver stated in the FAQ from here.
I tried using many combination of Media player classic, vlc, ac3filter, ffdshow and xbmc.
I can change to use an S/PDIF cable (toslink or coax) but as far as I understand, there's no S/PDIF output on the XPS m1330.
Any idea how can I get DTS sound?
