Hi, I recently purchased an X51 system with the specs:
i7-3770, 6GB 1600mhz RAM, GeForce GT 545, 1TB 7200RPM HD, and the 240w power supply.
I would like to add a SSD to it without the SSD replacing the hard drive and without making the hard drive into an external hard drive. The SSD I'd like to add is a
128GB Samsung 830 Series SSD. I haven't been able to find if my system can handle adding the SSD since I have the lower 240w power supply.
I don't remember the sources but the method I intend to use is splitting the dvd drive power with a y cable so both the dvd drive and ssd have power, and locating the ssd on top of the dvd drive in between it and the tower's side cover. These are the two cables to add the SSD that the post recommended.

Can I add the SSD without upgrading my power supply to the 330W?
