A few weeks ago, I got a real time clock error (5 beeps) on rebooting. Had to turn the pc off/on at the wall, then the computer booted fine. Since then, I havn't had any problems at all, aside from the one I am about to describe.
Restarting via windows no longer restarts the PC - it instead seems to power down the PC into sleep mode (The lights fade in/out red/green/blue etc as it does when the PC is on sleep mode) except it never wakes up no matter what I do, and I have to turn it off/on at the wall.
If I shut down normally, and then turn the PC on via the power button it works fine. Rebooting is the only thing that no longer works.
Could this potentially be a sign of a dying CMOS Battery? I have just recently (about a week before this issue started) cleaned the computer and temperatures are stellar so it's not anything related to overheating. I have a battery ready and waiting but i'd rather not change it if it's not the problem. It has been 6 months since my last reformat, though, so it could be something to do with that.
