Have 4 MD3000i units and they have been great for 5 years.
Performing maintenance on switches and power at one of our racks.
Have a 2 node cluster and MD3000i for our SQL.
Powered down both SQL cluster nodes while recabling SAN switches. We did leave on the MD3000i chassis but I do not think this would cause a problem.
Afterwards realized could not contact the management ports for the SAN. This is not uncommon and typically a shutdown and restart does the trick.
In this case powered off the chassis, powered back on and both controllers just reboot before initiallizing the iSCSI port. They ping but software cannot connect before they reset again. Used serial cable and watched the boot process, lists a Panic - unreconcilable ITA database before they reset. Cannot find anything regarding an ITA Database.
Tried using just one of either of the cards but no difference.
Finally pulled the drives and it would boot fine but show no disk groups or anything.
Even with one disk in the chassis it would go back to the problem.
Biggest issue is that we found out that the most recent backups of our SQL production was on another partition on this SAN.
Really be a life saver if someone can point me at some more things to try or a guru.
