We're having some issues with the blade chassis causing a servers to drop ping packets when we attempt a backup job. The servers are running vmware, and its only the VM being backed up that has dropped pings. This is happening across multiple VMs, even when they have 10GB virtual Network and we only reach about 12% utilization on its VM network. The Backup server is physical and it doesn't drop any connections, nor do non blade chassis servers.
I believe the issue might be related to QOS flow control not being enabled on each blade port. However, because we're using a default map with CNA, it won't let us enable it on the Ethernet portion of this.
The Card in each blade is M1741 and its carrying native FC storage traffic (40%) and the rest is Ethernet. CoS 3 appears to be the storage portion with flow control enabled. How do I do the same for Priority Group Table 2?
No other issues outside the dropped ping packets during heavy network transfer times specifically during backups. The backups finish successfully.
