Hi, my 1012 mini is about 2 years old now. I havent used it in half a year and recently plugged it in and started it up. First the screen lit up and the computer beeped quite a few times and shut off. From there it was really hard to turn it back on. The charge light wouldnt come on on all when it was plugged in, not even if the battery was removed. The computer then would have the power light come on for a second and try to beep once but shut off mid beep. It then wouldnt do anything at all, but if left plugged in the power orange light would come on and flicker. The bottom of the computer got really hot even though nothing sounded like it was running.
After searching around I drained all the power (holding down the power button with everything taken out) and, following the step-by-step dell user manual, replaced the CMOS battery.
The lights still do not come on when plugged in, and it doesn't turn on at all.
Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!
Edit: I forgot to mention, BEFORE replacing the CMOS battery, I had found a spare 19V ac adapter. It still didnt show any charging lights when I used that.
